Al-Fatihah buat Dr Lo’ Lo’
Pemergianmu amat kami rasai, Semoga ALLah tempatkan roh Almarhumah ke dalam golongan hambaNya yang beriman.
PETALING JAYA: PAS Titiwangsa MP Dr Lo’Lo’ Ghazali (pic) has died of cancer at 10.15pm yesterday. She was 54.
PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali confirmed that Dr Lo’Lo’ had passed away at the Selayang Hospital.
A posting in her Facebook account said that arrangements were being made to transfer her body to the Al-Akram Mosque in Datuk Keramat to be prepared for burial.
She would be buried at the Datuk Keramat Muslim cemetery this morning.
Dr Lo’Lo’, a medical doctor, was born on Aug 2, 1957 in Kuala Kangsar, Perak to a family of eight siblings.
She leaves behind husband Prof Madya Dr Aminuddin Abd Hamid Karim, four children, Mawaddah, Muhd Fawwaz, Sakinah and Muhd Farhan Aminuddin and a grandchild.
Her death will not result in a by-election as the current 12th Parliament had served its three-year mandate as of April 28 this year.
Muhd Fawwaz, 28, said his mother was diagnosed with cancer two years ago and that her funeral would be at 10.30am.
“Even on her deathbed my mother continued to worry about the people in her constituency,” he said.
Dr Lo’Lo’ became the second woman from PAS to win a parliamentary seat when she beat Barisan’s Datuk Aziz Jamaludin Mohd Tahir by a majority of 1,972 votes in Titiwangsa in the last general election.
The first PAS woman MP was Khadijah Sidek, who won the Dungun parliamentary constituency in 1959.
Earlier, PKR Youth exco member Badrul Hisham Saharin or better known as Che’gu Bard and several other opposition MPs had tweeted that Dr Lo’Lo’ had already passed away.
Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said in his twitter account at 2pm yesterday: “Al-fatihah– we lost a friend and a fighter…who passed away a moment ago.”
Both leaders later apologised for the confusion over their earlier twe
